Eric's Success Story

From a referral at the DHS, Eric enrolled in the Warehouse Training Program at Goodwill of Rhode Island during the winter of 2013. As he began the program, he was rapidly identified as being a hard worker and a fast learner. Before long, he assisted our Warehouse Training instructor to train new participants.

Eventually Eric was able to lead a group because his work was rated excellent in all areas. The instructor concluded that this resulted from three aspects of Eric’s career path. One was his strong work ethic, the other his desire to succeed, and the last his past work experience. Eric completed the training and was awarded a certificate of completion with distinction in the spring of 2014. Eric also received his OSHA, 10 hour safety certification and Fork lift operator certificate.

After working with the employment team and receiving work readiness training, Eric was offered a temporary position through Manpower staffing. That led to a position at Pascale’s Service Corp. in Pawtucket. At his new position, Eric is responsible for pulling orders and making deliveries. After approximately 1 year of temp work, Eric was offered a full time position in recognition of the great work he does. Patty Chadwick with Manpower says, “He has been a terrific worker on all the assignments for Manpower”. Congratulations Eric! Progress such as this is one reason why we at Goodwill “Believe in the power of work.”
